An example:
suppose I want this picture out of my picture album on SRP to show here in this post: http://www.straightrazorplace.com/forums/members/bart-albums-stropping-album-picture3318-stropping.html

In Firefox:
Open a separate browser tab and go to the webpage with the picture, right-click it with the mouse and choose the third option from above (My firefox is Dutch, but in English there should be something like: "copy image location")
Get back to he post you were typing and paste the information you just copied. (CTRL-V)
like this:
http://www.straightrazorplace.com/forums/members/bart-albums-stropping-album-picture3318-stropping.gif

Select what you just pasted and click the "image"-button. It's the third from the left on the bar above (the one with the sunset)
now it will look like this:
[img]http://www.straightrazorplace.com/forums/members/bart-albums-stropping-album-picture3318-stropping.gif [/img]

This will show up the picture in your post.

In Internet Explorer it works the same, except that it's a bit different to harvest the image location:
right-click the image and choose properties. Select the URL-information and click CTRL-C. The rest of the procedure is the same.

RESIZING:
It happens that a picture is too large and show up truncated. In such case you can resize the image by adding "=850" after the IMG tag. 850 pixels is about the width of the screen on our forum. Obviously you can also use other pixel dimensions.

In the above example:
[img=850]http://www.straightrazorplace.com/forums/members/bart-albums-stropping-album-picture3318-stropping.gif [/img]

gives this result.

DISPLAY OF ATTACHED IMAGES
Some of our forum sections allow you to upload pictures to our server. This is easy, but the uploaded pictures won't show up in your post automatically. for that you need to refer to the image:
[img]1[/img]

1 corresponds with the first attachment, 2 with the second, etcetera.
The images can be rescaled as explained above.
Bart.

Does the command syntax allow image rescalling?
If so, what is it?

Eh. No hotlinking! ;)

Joking aside, if in Firefox, a number of these extensions will come in handy: https://addons.mozilla.org/en/firefox/search?q=bbcode&cat=all. DM bbCode should do the trick.

Yes, rescaling is possible. You can hit the green question mark in the editor. It has all the information.

Kind regards,
Bart.

Thank you gents for the advise (the green question mark is something I didn't try).
Excuse me please, but I don't have a good command of English therefore sometimes don't get the jokes.

Wow, that is a handy list of all the possible formatting! Love it, playing a lot with text as a part of my job I like to format exactly the way I want. Heck, now I'll have to edit my all posts...

I don't know how about you folks, but I always read the manuals. Not that I can't make up what to do by myself, but it makes you reach a deep knowledge of whatever tool you are using, there are always some hidden quirks and gems. Assuming it's all in the icons above I somehow skipped it this time... :| :)

Thanks!

kind regards,
Matt
