Don't know if anyone has mentioned this before, but a little chat window would be pretty cool. This is the Cafeteria after all. A good place to say 'hey, hows it hangin?' that kind of stuff. What do you think?

I think its a good idea, & a better way to get to know fellow members. Good idea!

I think that the site does not have enough users for this. What might make sense in my opinion would be to implement a weekly/monthly/yearly chat. The easiest, and I think best, way technically is to use a public irc network with a dedicated channel. Well, I have just registered #coticule.be on freenode.
Why IRC? Because live chats have a tendency to turn nasty, and IRC gives you the opportunity to have a moderator online 24/7 (using tmux/screen and a CLI IRC client).
But, as I said, I personally don't overly like the idea. The shaving related chat channels I know were quickly filled with vendors pushing their goods and services, while most visitors were buys inventing new speling mi$t4k3$!!!

Personally, I really don't have the time to get involved in chat sessions. Quite frankly, the format doesn't work for me: I can't even manage to have more than one conversation at the same time in my mother's tongue, let alone doing that in English.
But if some of you want to set a time frame and meet in chat, feel free to start an announcement thread about it.
Have fun,
Bart.

Then the light shone, trumpets sounded and I got to the other side, where men shave with smiles on their faces, razors pop hairs, and a continuous choir singing «~~Keen and Smooth~~» is heard everywhere. (Matt)

After giving it some thought I feel the same way as you Bart. I hardly find time to get on to this forum as is. There was this other place that implemented it and it works out well for the subject matter, but I think it's different over here.

Well, I'd like to do a video chat as some form of honing class sometimes. Everyone with a webcam could join in, and those without one could just watch and still ask questions.
I know there are video conference websites on the internet where we could setup a "room" for such initiative, but I don't have the time to set it all up.
If there's anyone willing to organize it, we could try something like that sometimes. Could be fun. Everyone brings his own beers and hones.
Kind regards,
Bart.
