First of all, thanks everybody for the positive reactions on my thesis :)

And I also am enthralled by the breadth of the undertaking and the skill with which it is assembled and the cohesive manner in which the understandings are given. I have read a few theses in my time and seldom, if ever, found the quality that I read here.
May I have permission to share this on other fora??
Respectfully
~Richard

I'm flattered if you think this thesis is worth sharing with other people, but before sharing it, I would like to add an 'acknowledgement' to my thesis. I'll upload a new link as soon as possible.

A remarkably well writen thesis and I thoroughly enjoyed it:thumbup:

Though I do not much appreciate the streamlined production facility/commercial environment you so skillfully created I recognize the need for it in the future. As a straight razor user I much appreciate the history behind The Ardennes company and that is surely one reason for picking a coticule for honing. Though I fully understand that proffesional craftsmen do not care much about history and the fact that they need to be reached by modern facilities and advertising.

No matter what,a coticule will be a coticule.

Being able to choose one specific coticule would be a great option (individual pictures and measurements ),though this is allready available through Maurice ;-)

Thanks for sharing you`re thesis,it was a pleasure:thumbup:

Kindly

Hello Anne-Katrien,
Thank you! I can wait till you feel the time is right. Many of the shaving folks do not get to Coticule.be and so have missed the information.

Hello,
Here is finally the link of the thesis with 'acknowledgement'. Sorry for the very late responds. I was abroad and the hotel didn't had a very good Internet-connection...

The link is: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Q6AWH62P

Thank you very much for posting it also on other websites.

Hello Anne-Katrien,
Before I put this online, I would again request that you decide if some of the material is of value to Ardennes competition. If so, perhaps it would be a good idea to refine the treatise to only the actual Coticule information about the Quality, history, and mining of the glorious creamy rock and how it compares to the other products out in the marketplace.
Again, I thank you for the information.
Respectfully

Richard and Anne-Katrein,

By tradition, a scholarly thesis has to be a public document. There is no compulsion on Anne-Katrein to publicize it, but pretty much anybody who asks will get a copy from her university.

I am sure there are many insights that she gleaned will be more quickly available to Ardennes, and even if they are written down in the thesis, will be more difficult for competitors to discern and exploit.

Thank you vgeorge,
While I have read and enjoyed all the information provided, my thought is that a shortened re-edited version of the document would be of value to those outside our cozy little world. It would contain history(pg.10-12,) comparison, appendices of competition(pg 151-2), and would leave out much of the sales, market share, and retail space design oriented information. It would be this further use of the Thesis to develop a short marketing thrust aimed at the many straight razor fora.
