Of Course and Alas, I have only small snippets of information concerning the Owl, however as little as I know, I believe that the Owl would surely only keep anything safe at night?

In case any one wonders what all this owl talk is about: there really lives an owl on the attic at Ardennes' workshop. Can be heared stumbling about and oohoo-ing when he come home from work in the morning.

Then the light shone, trumpets sounded and I got to the other side, where men shave with smiles on their faces, razors pop hairs, and a continuous choir singing «~~Keen and Smooth~~» is heard everywhere. (Matt)

Now for the images. Among many options is a pretty handy online tool called Dropbox. If you drop in at http://db.tt/Kent0Hh both me and anyone who registers get extra 0.25GB added to regular 2GB available. You can share any kind of files through it, make photo galleries, there's also a nice application that makes synchronizing files between computer and your Dropbox account easy as pie. Though some here are low-techI believe that some others might like it. I've been using this excusively for sharing any images I've posted here for several months.
Whatever option you choose gentlemen - BRING'EM ON!
Last night, I lost a few hours time with setting up an upload form for those who attended the weekend to share pictures. The entire system is setup, but for some reason, the upload fails. Probably a PHP error. I have urgent other business, hence I decided the accept Matt's solution (quoted above). If that is fine for all who were planning to share pictures?
Kind regards,
Bart.
PS. I have given all members that attended the weekend a little present. Look under your moniker name. Just a title, but I hope you'll all wear it with pride.

yes we do (at least wim and I do from the rest I don't know) and I'll be sure to wear it with pride
The Bible and several other self help or enlightenment books cite the Seven Deadly Sins. They are: pride, greed, lust, envy, wrath, sloth, and gluttony. That pretty much covers everything that we do, that is sinful... or fun for that matter. - Dave Mustaine

Whoa ... I'm ... an ... INSIDER !!
I'll upload the pictures I have this weekend Bart ! Unless I find a tool that allows me to resize them in batch (without putting a frigging banner across the picture

I have installed the DROPBOX as suggested by Matt. It's easy. I also added a folder to mine called "pilgrimage", that I will share with you guys once you've installed your own dropbox. (I need the e-mail address you use for accessing yours). Once shared, I think we will all be able to use that shared folder. If not, let's hope Matt is prepared to coach us.
Yes, "Insider" is the closest word I could find for "ingewijde" without sounding like we'd begun a sect.
Kind regards,
Bart.

Thank you Donald, that's a kind offer. However space is not the problem right now. It's just that I don't have a quick solution for uploading the files to the Coticule.be server (short of giving everyone FTP access). Let's first give Matt's idea a chance.
Kind regards,
Bart.

Why not install gallery or coppermine? The main problem being that Contao offers bridging for neither, so you would have to set up users yourself. But at least the images would come in a nice presentation format

I'm not investing too much time in further development of the website on the Contao platform. Last nights experience with the failing upload link, without finding any significant online answers for the problem on the Contao website, combined with finding this message:
Quote:

Peter Koch, the Extension Repository developer, retires from the Contao team. Peter is one of the Contao pioneers who joined the project in its very early days and he has been on the team ever since its founding in 2008. For personal reasons, he will not be able to support the project as an active team member in the future anymore.
makes me think the days of coticule.be running on Contao are numbered. Peter Koch is the one who wrote the entire forum extension we're running on. With a growing membership, we need a few extra features, that I don't see happening anytime soon now.

We'll figure it out.
Bart.

Hm, nobody needs to install Dropbox to see your shared files. In general, everything you copy to "Public" folder gets, well, public. If you want to share it, you just right click it (if you installed Dropbox, if you didn't you do it through the website) and choose "copy public link". That's the way I put all the images here. But that's not the way to share photo galleries.
As for photo galleries:
Quote:
Step 1: Make a folder inside the Photos folder, and give it a name (this will be the name of your photo gallery)
Step 2: Put photos inside the folder you just created.
That's it! Now you can view and share this photo gallery online by going to http://www.getdropbox.com/photos
After I copied the images to a folder I share an album simply by logging into Dropbox and entering "Photos" folder. Then, above the folders list, the button "Gallery" appears. When you click it, you are taken to a thumbnails view; you click your gallery of choice and then you see the thumbnails of all the pictures in it and there's a link above, that you can share with anyone.
However complicated it may appear, it's really just a few clicks. Moreover if you add some files in the wrong place, you can move any file/folder internally within Dropbox, without the need of deleting/uploading everything again. So Bart, you can just move your "pilgrimage" folder to "Photos" and then just copy/paste the link.
I hope everything works fine.
Should something not work, I'll try to answer any questions.
kindest regards,
Matt

Thank you, Matt.
So, if I got that right, this link should take us to the Gallery:
http://www.dropbox.com/gallery/12421753/1/PILGRIMAGE?h=317ec7
Now, how do the other guys can manage to post their pictures in the same gallery?
Don't we need to share that folder somehow?
Kind regards,
Bart.

Ah, damn - indeed, if the plan is to amass all the pics into one gallery, each user would have to get an account to be able to add files to a shared folder. Doesn't cost a dime, nor hurt, but maybe there's some other option?
Going to sleep, we'll discuss this tomorrow.
regards,
Matt

Well, just as I wrote earlier - if you want someone else to be able to add files to a shared folder, that person has to have a Dropbox account, too. Of course it's not needed for watching the gallery.
I thought that everyone would share his own collection and if someone didn't have already a way of doing it I thought I'd share an easy (in my opinion) solution for that. Sorry if this causes any confusion...

Matt
