Dear members, researchers and associates,
Welcome back to the Cafeteria of Coticule.be. I hope that you all had a refreshing August.
You might not notice it just yet and right away, but we have been working during the last 2 weeks of our vacation to make Coticule.be better, easier and more functional, for you: the Coticule enthusiast and/or straight razor aficionado.
A new website layout is running on the test bench as we speak. We are preparing an exciting new website feature called "the Coticule Gallery", that will serve as a database for Coticules in service all over the world, both vintage and current production. For filling the gallery, we count on the help of our members, as we will put one Coticule into the spotlights for about 2-3 weeks and gather as much information about it as possible, before putting it into our own Coticule "Gallery of Fame" so to speak.
In the foreseeable future, we hope to finish Operation True Blue, an ongoing experiment that seeks to establish good procedures for getting the best of a Belgian Blue Whetstone. And we are preparing some exciting new research with aid of Scanning Electron Microscopy (to magnify edges up to 3000 X) and X-Ray Diffraction methods for mineralogical research. Which reminds me to welcome the 2 new Researchers to the team, who will be helping out to make these dreams come true: BabyDom and Woodash. Welcome guys!
We also welcome a new Associate. (We've decided to change the term "moderator" to "associate" as this reflect much better the democratic nature of the team owning and running Coticule.be. Without much further ado: give the guy with the new bowler hat a warm applause: the venerable dr. Ralfson! He earned it.
Last but not least: the Coticule Pilgrimage is approaching rapidly. Please keep an eye on the concerning thread to be informed about the latest developments. We will be updating it soon with more news about this exciting weekend. There are currently 11 participants, but we are still taking reservations.
Kind regards,
Bart.

Then the light shone, trumpets sounded and I got to the other side, where men shave with smiles on their faces, razors pop hairs, and a continuous choir singing «~~Keen and Smooth~~» is heard everywhere. (Matt)

The Bible and several other self help or enlightenment books cite the Seven Deadly Sins. They are: pride, greed, lust, envy, wrath, sloth, and gluttony. That pretty much covers everything that we do, that is sinful... or fun for that matter. - Dave Mustaine

Sounds like a lot of good stuff is happening... Not so sure about your judgment on the new Associate... But, that's another issue entirely
